Clitheroe Canoe Club, nestled in the heart of Lancashire, is a welcoming, volunteer-led community that is passionate about paddlesports. At our private club lake — a safe, sheltered space — we provide expert coaching in kayaking, canoeing, and stand-up paddle boarding (SUP), making it the perfect place to build confidence before venturing further afield.

Learning in a club environment comes with many benefits:

  • Coaching at a fraction of the cost of private lessons
  • Use of club equipment is included in the cost of each session
  • Try different equipment options and talk to experienced paddlers before buying your own kit

Whether you’re mastering the basics or refining your skills, our supportive environment caters to all ages and abilities. Discover the thrill, tranquility, and camaraderie of paddlesports with Clitheroe Canoe Club, and make the water your playground!

What Our Members Say

Find out why our members love being part of Clitheroe Canoe Club!
  • “Thanks Len and Peter for taking me out, it
was a wonderful first river experience. Who
knew that you could surf waves in a Kayak?!
    (In Lancashire!).

  • 1st time having a go at Canoeing and paddle boarding. Loved it. Great friendy club. Defo worth a visit, great fun.

  • I brought my 14 year old here and we’ve both taken part in a couple of sessions so far. The people are lovely and friendly, really making us feel at home. The facilities are top notch, particularly when you consider that most canoe clubs have a trailer with some boats and nowhere to call home. CCC have a purpose built building with a large canoe and equipment store, changing rooms and toilets, and other indoor facilities, all on the edge of a small lake in Chatburn. Great for novices to learn the basics and get comfortable in a kayak, canoe or paddle board. Would recommend.

  • Excellent club, returning member from many years ago but with two mini me’s in tow this time. Wasn’t sure how they would get on but best decision this year. New experience, confidence building and removing the fear of trying new things
